My orientation to assessment work has always been family-centered and intervention driven. I strongly believe that comprehensive evaluations can support caregivers and educators in developing insight and empathy into a child’s experience, highlight a child’s strengths, and make sense of a child’s challenges. As a bilingual (Spanish-English) and bicultural school psychologist in public schools, I wanted to find ways to center parent concerns and make IEP systems more accessible. Now in a private practice setting, I am eager to support families in deeply understanding their child’s needs and advocating for appropriate services, interventions, and accommodations.

I completed my undergraduate degree at Scripps College of the Claremont Colleges and earned my PhD from UC Berkeley in School Psychology, a program with full accreditation from the American Psychological Association (APA). I’ve worked in schools throughout the greater Bay Area where I gained experience leading school-based intervention teams, creating school-wide interventions from the ground up, conducting bilingual psychoeducational assessments from a trauma-informed lens, offering therapeutic services to children and youth, and facilitating school-based family wellness groups. I transitioned to academia in 2015, where I have taught courses in the school psychology, school counseling, and marriage and family therapy tracks in the graduate Counseling Department at Saint Mary’s College of California and served as Program Director for the school psychology track. I also continue to provide trainings to community agencies and schools on trauma-informed practices, strength-based psychoeducational evaluations of bilingual children and youth, socially just family engagement, and anti-racist self-care for school leaders during the COVID-19 global pandemic.

I grew up in southern California but fell in love with the Bay Area when I moved here 15 years ago. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, sharing meals with friends, running, and singing.
