Join Our Team of Postdoctoral Fellows and Testing Psychologists specializing in Child & Adolescent Psychoeducational and Neuropsychological Evaluations.
We are seeking Postdoctoral Fellows (PhD/PsyD) who want to specialize in psychoeducational and neuropsychological evaluations with children, adolescents, parents, and families. Positions range from 25-40 hours per week, and begin in the late summer of 2024. (Mid-year applicants may be considered on a case-by-case basis). Length of fellowship is flexible (usually between 1-2 years), depending on your training needs and the fit of the practice.

About this opportunity
If you are passionate about psychological and neuropsychological assessment and working with children, adolescents and young adults, please apply. Prior experience and training in assessing attention, learning and social-emotional challenges is required, though we do offer training and mentorship to help you expand your interview, testing and report writing skills. This position is ideal for not-yet-licensed Psychologists who want to work in a private practice setting, with the support and mentorship of seasoned Testing Psychologists.
As a Registered Associate Postdoctoral Fellow at Mind Matters, you will gain ample experience in the following areas:
- Autism assessments
- ADHD assessments
- Dyslexia and other Learning Disability Assessments
- Giftedness/2E assessments
- Academic Testing
- Supporting families through the 504/IEP process
- Collaboration with (and perspective from) allied professionals

Qualifications:
- Eligible to register as a Psychological Associate in the State of CA
- Intention of becoming a Licensed Psychologist
- Doctoral degree (PsyD or PhD) in Clinical, School or Educational Psychology or related field from an APA Accredited Program
- Knowledge and clinical experience (ideally at the pre or postdoctoral internship level) providing
- psychoeducational, developmental and/or neuropsychological evaluations
- for children, teens, and/or adults
- with developmental, learning, attention, social-cognitive, and emotional issues
- Knowledge of current assessment measures and practices
- Experience working in or consulting to elementary, middle and/or high schools
- Bilingual language skills are a plus
Compensation:
- This is a W-2 position, and you will receive competitive pay on a per project (case) basis, in addition to an hourly rate for administrative and training time.
- First-Year Postdoctoral fellows typically earn between $3600-$5400 per month for completing 2-3 evaluations. Each evaluation usually takes an average of 40 hours for trainees to complete. (Fellows who continue on for a second year typically earn between $4800-$7200 per month for completing 2-3 evaluations).
- Mind Matters provides all testing materials, equipment and supplies, along with training, regular individual and group supervision and opportunities for consultation with specialists.
- Other benefits include paid sick leave for all employees, health insurance for full-time employees (32+ hours per week), and 401K with matching for all employees who have been with the company for at least a year.
Schedule:
- Positions range from 25-40 hours per week. You choose how much you want to work beyond a minimum goal of at least two clients per month (25 hours/week).
- Current applicants must be available to test in person at least eight days per month on a regular schedule. (Weekend or Weekdays).
- Mandatory weekly group supervision and training (currently on Monday afternoons)
- Interviews/Feedbacks/Report Writing can be completed remotely if you prefer, on a flexible schedule.
Location:
Our San Francisco office is conveniently located near several major arteries (280, 101, 19th Ave) with ample street parking, offering an easy commute from the Peninsula and Marin. Our Berkeley office is located near the border of Berkeley and Oakland (near the intersection of HWY 580 and 24), about 15-minute walk from the Ashby Bart. (AC Transit also stops within a few blocks of the office).
