As a Licensed Educational Psychologist, I am passionate about helping families better understand the unique abilities (and needs) of their child through comprehensive and strengths-based assessments. My assessments always include a social/emotional component, as these factors can greatly impact the child’s educational experience and/or performance.  I enjoy helping parents understand and navigate the different systems of support that may be appropriate for their child. This includes understanding what is available through the general education environment as well as the nuances of 504s or IEPs.

My Experience as a School Psychologist Leads to Practical Recommendations

I’ve spent the last 16 years working as a school psychologist in the Bay Area, developing expertise in identifying and supporting students with learning disabilities (i.e. dyslexia), Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism and gifted/twice-exceptional (2-E) students. Throughout my time working in elementary and high schools, I’ve learned how to translate assessment results into meaningful information and practical recommendations. Through this process, I aim to support parents in finding appropriate outside support and creating a home environment better matched to their child’s needs. Together, we can help create systems to improve the educational experience for children.

More About My Background

I earned my undergraduate degree at Boston College and my Master of Science degree in Psychology at San Francisco State University. While in graduate school, I spent four years working as a mental health counselor at a residential facility for children with intensive mental health needs. After practicing as a school psychologist for several years, I completed a year-long School Neuropsychology Post-Graduate Certification Program. This intensive training furthered my ability to conduct comprehensive and meaningful psychoeducational and school neuropsychological assessments.

I live with my family in the East Bay. I enjoy outdoor activities with my family, cooking, reading and spending time with friends.
