My Philosophy

I am a collaborative evaluator, approaching every evaluation with empathy, curiosity, and humility. Each assessment brings an opportunity for discovery, enlightenment, and growth. Assessments can help a parent to better understand their child and a youth to gain self-knowledge, self-confidence, and self-compassion. Families shift their outlook and access available supports, and schools recognize why a child is struggling and what can be done to intervene. By developing insight and awareness, change becomes possible.

A comprehensive and collaborative psychological assessment can have a profound therapeutic impact, and be the springboard for lasting change. Trained in the Therapeutic Collaborative Assessment model, I include clients throughout the assessment process, jointly refining assessment questions and offering feedback progressively along the way. I aim to write accessible reports and communicate results and recommendations thoughtfully and with compassion.

My Prior Experience

Over my career I have worked with clients across the developmental lifespan, from young children to older adults. During my predoctoral internship I provided psychological services to toddlers, preschoolers, and their families. As a postdoctoral fellow and then staff member for nearly four years WestCoast Children’s Clinic (WCC), I worked with elementary school children, adolescents, and young adults. Most recently I worked in skilled nursing facilities, providing psychological services to adults who were physically and/or neurocognitively impacted.

Regardless of age, I operate from a biopsychosocial model and a systems-based perspective of human development. In essence,  a multitude of intersecting factors affect us, including neurobiology, family relationships, personal and/or intergenerational stressors and trauma, and cultural norms and societal roles. My assessments examine many factors in order to identify and clarify why a person is struggling and what can be done to help them.

Why Mind Matters?

I joined Mind Matters because I am passionate about disability rights, supporting youth, and ensuring that families are resourced to advocate for their children. I have experience collaborating with school personnel across the Bay Area and helping families learn about and navigate the particulars of the IEP process. Providing compassionate clinical care for neurodivergent individuals and the people who love them is meaningful, rewarding, and motivating.

In my free time you may find me jogging through the hills of San Francisco, exploring the city’s parks and playgrounds with my six-year-old, celebrating Jewish traditions with my family and friends, or visiting one of the many museums around the Bay. I also enjoy yoga, dancing, and dark chocolate.
